James is a native of Vernon County, Missouri. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Music Business from Southwest Missouri State University and earned his Juris Doctorate from St. Louis University School of Law.
A former prosecuting attorney, James was a member of the Missouri Association of Drug Court Professionals and served on the Supreme Court Rules Committee for Alternative Treatment Courts. He additionally led the Child Fatality Review Board, and a multi-disciplinary team focused on the investigation and prosecution of child abuse and domestic violence cases.
In private practice, James’ focus is Estate Planning, Probate (including estate administration, and guardian and conservator matters) and Real Estate. James also practices in the areas of Business and Family Law.
In his spare time, James is an equine ethologist and a croquet and cribbage enthusiast.
