Slip and Fall / Personal Injury Cases
Be careful out there folks, it’s slick– and sometimes it’s even slicker when property owners aren’t managing their space correctly. The state of Missouri holds owners liable for the proper care of their walkways. Negligent maintenance can lead to serious injuries, and every year we hear from clients with big bills from small spills. If you or a loved one has been injured due to a slip and fall, or other accident, contact the experts at Piatchek Law Firm to learn more about your rights and options.
Auto Accident? Worker’s Compensation?
In addition to slips and falls, our attorneys have experience winning all sorts of personal injury, auto accident, and workers compensation cases. Follow the link the read more, and contact us today to schedule a free consultation and learn about your rights.
Attorney Spotlight: Meet Scott Taylor
Scott G. Taylor has been part of the Piatchek team for two years, and specializes in personal injury, worker’s compensation, medical malpractice, and criminal defense cases, in addition to using his ample experience to play a jack of all trades role when it comes to general litigation here at the firm.
A native of southwest Missouri, Scott grew up around Springfield, went to Willard High School, and received his undergrad degree from Missouri State University, before studying law at St. Louis University.
Scott is one serious attorneys when it comes to litigation, but in his free time he can be found hanging out at the lake with his children, or riding his motorcycle around town in search of the perfect cup of coffee.
Speeding Ticket? You Know Who to Call
If you get a traffic ticket, the worst thing you can do is stuff it in the glovebox and forget about it– you can be sure the courts won’t! A speeding ticket, moving vehicle violation, or any other traffic related ticket doesn’t have to be a headache when you work with a professional attorney.
Think before you pay that ticket though, as having points on your driving record can result in higher insurance rates, in which case it’s better for your wallet in the long run to hire an attorney and take care of it correctly. There’s also the inconvenience of having to appear in court, something no one wants to do, and sometimes cannot do, if you work full time.
When you work with a professional Piatchek Attorney, you know you can expect the highest level of customer service and courtesy when handling your traffic ticket.
March Madness — Is Your Office Betting Pool Legal?
Short answer: No.
Betting on college sports is only legal one state, Nevada. But that doesn’t stop millions of Americans, nearly 30% of all office employees, from participating in what many hold to be a sacred water cooler tradition. Although the punishment for illegal gambling can include jail time alongside fines, the threat of facing legal consequences for your underground office break room gambling ring is virtually non existent.
However, employers may face additional liability, as the owners of the facilities where illegal betting happens. Despite the law, many offices will allow March Madness pools this year, and will enjoy the thrill of shocking upsets, sleeper picks, and maybe even a little cash reward for their foresight.
