Pet Parrot May Have Witnessed Unsolved Murder
“Dont f***ing shoot” repeats Bud the parrot in Ensley Township, Michigan. Bud’s owner, Martin Duram, was found dead in home last year, shot by an unknown assailant. Duram’s parents report that the bird has a habit of repeating nearly everything its late owner says, and believes that the African gray parrot will forever be echoing Duram’s final words. If the bird really is repeating its owners last words, the question becomes to whom was he speaking? Investigators are interested in Duram’s ex-wife, who was found at the scene with a gun wound to the head, and no memory of the events that night or the three suicide notes she left for friends and relatives.
It’s unlikely the bird’s words would be admitted in court, as the evidence would be considered hearsay at best, but that doesn’t stop the family of the victim from believing that Duram died arguing in front of his bird.
